Once again, charming is your best friend, but this time, charm the first ally he resurrects, regardless who it is. Once you kill the ghosts, Maradino cannot revive them further, so if you're fast and manage the battlefield well, you can keep him controlled. However, if his five friends are dead, he will spend his entire turn reviving them, one ally per turn. He's incredibly strong offensively with respectable defense, and his magic strength is strong as well. You'll be attacked by a mini-boss named Maradino. Grab everything, read the books, then exit back to the main part of the study. The secret room contains a few items, including Frederick's Blood Stone. Read it, and part of the stone wall will vanish allowing you to enter a secret room in the back. You need to find an item merely labeled “Book,” which is near the northern corner of the room. Save after the fight and heal up, then look around the room. Charming the enemy helps the most, since they'll just start attacking or inflicting status ailments on the others. The other three enemies do direct or poison damage, and they are strong, but you should be able to handle it. These two can significantly take the momentum from you due to their ability to inflict status ailments on multiple members of the party. If possible, try to charm or blind Zalk'um the Forsaken and/or Maelodia the Dissonant first. Station yourself near the door from which you entered, then use the strongest attack you have on any enemy. However, if you don't attack them now, you're going to have some problems in a bit. They are flagged hostile, but will not attack you first. Inside the study, there will be a lot of books and loot, along with some people laying on the ground. You'll have to climb some stairs, and you'll come to a locked gate. After it dies, you can dig up a Key to the Study just behind it. In that cave, you'll need to kill a giant flower to the east corner of the area. A hatch is just north of that spot, as you can see in the screenshot below. You're in the right place if your Source Hunters talk about the cliff. He'll tell you his story, then send you to the cliff just to the east. To trigger them, speak to Frederick, who lies injured just south of the Spider Queen's location in northern Luculla. Frederick's Blood Stone is triggered alongside Slaves and Masters.
